K8DOT - Carey R. Alexander Chapter 9, SW Ohio: Happy 95th Birthday (Oct. 1921), K8DOT, Carey!
From the Dec, 2016 Journal Chapter 9 report.
At the first Hamvention you gave a presentation on Quartz Crystals. You were not even a ham yet at the time, but the Hamvention sure convinced you, you were missing a lot of fun!

We enjoyed the many trips over the years with you to southern Ohio, where you spent your youth. Went to your old home (it was still standing at the time). We cleaned out the brush around the cabin you acquired to serve as a weekend escape. We made the rounds of the cemeteries to deposit and pick up flowers for your loved ones.

Once we went to the county courthouse to look up some records, then had a coke across the street for the original price, (forgot, was it a nickel or a dime). And, of course we had to stop at the Y-restaurant for a meal of oysters, your favorite...

Enjoy! Gerd, WB8IFM
