Walter Edward Parrish Sr, 86, of Petersburg, MI, died Thursday, January 25, 2018, in his residence under the care of Great Lakes Hospice.
Friends may call at Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 3-8 pm. There will be a service on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11 am at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida. Pastor David DesAutels will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.
Born May 8, 1931, in Toledo, OH. Walter was the son of Washington and Sarah (Davis) Parrish.
He was a 1947 Mt. Vernon Academy Graduate. He attended the University of Toledo, Toledo, OH.
He served with the US Army as a corporal and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was on the MASH Unit and served during the Korean War.
He married Pamela Keisler-Ault on July 5, 1978 in Toledo, OH.
He worked for Ackland Stamping, and he owned his own business, Dundee Engineering. He then worked for The Ford Motor Company, Dearborn-Pilot Plant from 1969 until he retired in 1999. He was a Tool and die maker and dimension and gauging worker.
He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Zenobia Shriner, Toledo, OH.
He was a member of Woodworking Guild, SEMATEA Tractor Club, Farmer Antique Tractor Engine Association, Amateur Radio 'HAM', ( Call-sign K8GEG) and NRA. He was also a scuba diver, amateur pilot and amateur photographer. He was also a draft horse/pony puller, breeder and showman.
Survivors include: his wife, Pamela Heisler-Ault-Parrish; children, Pat Irwin, Linda (Tom) Caldwell, Walt (Eva) Parrish Jr., Clifford Parrish, Daniel Parrish, Diane (Jim) Seegert, Brian Ault, Michael (Diane) Ault, Karla (Gabe) Trejo and Catherine Parrish; grandchildren, Isaac Parrish, Jimi (Tara) Seegert, Jacob (Michelle) Seegert, Dr. Stephanie (Mike) Kastel, Sarah Seegert, Samantha Super, Rachel Super, Gabriel Trejo, Olivia Trejo, Kayla Trejo, John Trejo, Lauren Price and Natalie Lumbrezer; and great-grandchildren, Luke and Levi Kastel, Evelyn and Ella Seegert and Cashton and Clara Iott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
