John Reese Allen, age 76, of Mt. Dora passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was born March 11, 1942 in Youngstown, OH and moved to Lake County in 1987 from Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
He was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was a Presbyterian.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Yu C. Allen of Mt. Dora, FL; son, Scott (Joan) Allen of Clearwater, FL; daughters, Wendy (John) Oliverio of Brandon, FL, Katherine (Loren) Blackwell of Mt. Dora, FL; brother, Dan (Peggy) Allen of Sarasota, FL; sister, Susan Mikelonis of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Nick Oliverio of Brandon, FL, Spencer Oliverio of Brandon, FL, Isabell of Mt. Dora, FL, Zac Allen of St. Petersburg, FL.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home, Tavares.
A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 5:00PM.
Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
