PRINCETON - Richard Austin Hade, 84, of Princeton died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

He was born April 4, 1925, in Corning, Iowa, to Austin L. and Gladys (Oberg) Hade.

He was a graduate of the University of Illinois. He worked as an auto dealer for 13 years, as a real estate broker for six years and as a business manager for the Covenant Children's Home in Princeton.

He had served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton, the Princeton Jaycees as a charter member, the Princeton Park Board, the Princeton Rotary Club, the Red Covered Bridge Amateur Radio Club, the American Radio Relay League, the Quarter Century Wireless Association and the U.S. Tennis Association.

Surviving are one brother, Jack Hade of Chicago; and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Ann Paulding.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Bernie Windmiller of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Princeton, officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
