Ticket: Currently an Extra class. First licensed 1/27/81 in Jersey City,
NJ as a Novice at the age of 15, advancing quickly through General,
Advanced, to Extra while in high school. This was back in the day when you
had to be tested at the FCC field office at 201 Varick Street in NYC. No VEC
program back then! School Clubs: Elected president of St. Peter's Prep Amateur Radio Club, K2OQJ, while in high school and elected president of Stevens Amateur Radio Club, W2BSC, while studying for my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
Favorite operating modes:
tend to favor the HF bands on CW, slow or fast, though we enjoy some long
rag chews on SSB as well.
