Randolph M. Owen passed away July 2, 2004 at the age of 83. He attended Hampden-Sydney College, was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and served in the Signal Corps during World War II. He was a past Scout Master at Saint James's Episcopal Church, past president of the Archaeology Society of Virginia, and a member of the Richmond Amateur Radio Society. He retired after many years of service as a project engineer with the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Helen Miller Owen; his daughter, Cary and son-in-law, Lynwood G. Jennings; his daughter, Jeannie Gray and son-in-law, Michael Wiant; his grandchildren, Michael and Katy Jennings, and Zachary and Sarah Wiant.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Westminster Canterbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the the Westminster Canterbury Employee Christmas Fund or the Westminster Canterbury Foundation.
