Obituary for Bruce Wright Simmons:
BRUCE WRIGHT SIMMONS, AGE 80 And a resident of Wilmer died Monday January 11, 2021 at his home after a battle with cancer. He worked as a welder for Avondale Shipyards and other companies through the years.
Bruce proudly served his community and country in the Louisiana Army National Guard and later retired after many years of service. Bruce was a Master Mason and a past Master of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge #123 A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his son Brandon Simmons Also several cousins, neighbors and many friends that he enjoyed spending time with.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Arlene McDaniel Simmons and parents John H. Simmons and Nell T. Simmons. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday January 15th from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Masonic rites service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Friday.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held in the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:45 pm Friday with Bro. Don McDaniel officiating.
