Ham Radio Operator KA9EDR, Leo C. Crumrine 82 years old, of Wheatfield, passed away February 14, 2012. On April 24, 1929, Leo was born to Francis (Neb) & Laura Crumrine in Chicago, Illinois. Leo married Rosemary Conway on December 23, 1950, in Chicago.
Leo worked for General American Transportation Corporation for many years as a supervisor in the steel shop that made railroad cars, the company later became GATX, until he retired in1987, but the company hired him back as a consultant for many years. Leo served in the Air Force during Korean War as a Weather Observer.
Leo was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church of Wheatfield, a Ham Radio Operator, he loved Woodworking. Leo also loved attending the men's coffee club in DeMotte.
Leo is survived by his sons: Paul Richard (June) Crumrine and Scott Charles (Susan) Crumrine, one grandson: Paul David (Diana) Crumrine. Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary, parents, and two brothers Frank & Richard Crumrine.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday,
February 19, 2012 at the Boersma Funeral Home, 90 East Grove St., Wheatfield,
Indiana. Services for Leo will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00
a.m. at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church of Wheatfield. Interment will take
place at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood, Illinois.
