Fraser W. Child, 86, of Clyde Township, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Fraser W. Child was born February 16, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Wallace Child and Flora Child. Mr. Child was employed as a carpenter for 39 years. He was a Past President and member of Carpenters Local 1067. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a multi-talented woodworker, artist, painter and duck carver. His other hobbies included sailing, flying airplanes and being a locksmith. He enjoyed coaching minor hockey and helping with the Silver Stick Tournament. He was a member of the National Association for Amateur Radio Operators, the Duck Carvers Association and was a third degree Mason. He was survived by his wife, Jean Hyslop Child; four children, David (Elizabeth) Child, Judy (Ernest) Albert, Patrick (Susan) Child and Jeff Child (Mark Miller); three stepchildren, Crystal Hyslop (Janice Czyscon), Kimberly (Don) Shephard and Tamara (Al) Andreoni; grandchildren, Dr. Scott Albert, Steven Albert, Tim Child and Mike Child; stepgrandchildren, Carmen Bauman, Miranda Garza, Sean Beckett, Leslie Beckett, Lee Shephard, Jean Shephard, Zac Andreoni and Alex Andreoni; and two sisters, Joan Potter and Marilyn Yeager; and many nieces and nephews. Fraser Child was preceded in death by two wives, Morna S. Child and Barbara J. Child; a son, Mark Child; siblings, Walt Child and Barbara Klammer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Del Klammer, Mabel Child, Fred Potter and Robert Yeager. |
