KB9G - Marshal D. 'Mickey' Dolgin

Hello, My name is Mickey. I first received my Novice License in August, 1961. Then a couple of months later I took my General Class with 13 wpm in Chicago on the 39th floor of the fcc building. I eventually took my Advance Class Test in Chicago and my call sign went from wn9alf as a novice to wa9alf as a general then advance. In 1980 I finally took the Amateur Extra Class in Chicago as well and passed the 20 wpm code test and then the theory. I changed my call to KB9G. I have lived in Milwaukee, Chicago while attending DeVry University and graduating with a degree in BSEE(T) in May 1971.

I worked in sales for G.E.,CUTLER-HAMMER and ELECTRIC SUPPLY CORP. MY LAST JOB IN CHICAGO WAS WORKING FOR NAMCO CONTROLS . I WOULD SELL PHOTO-ELECTRIC CONTROLS AND PROXIMITY SWITCHES TO ASSEMBLY PLANTS SUCH AS FORD MOTOR CO. WHEN I MOVED BACK HOME TO MILWAUKEE, I ENDED UP BEING A PARTNER IN A ALTERNATOR/STARTER BUISNESS .I ALSO SOLD CELLULAR PHONES.I CLOSED MY CAREER AS A MANAGER OF BATTERY PLUS AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. AS I LOOK BACK I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE INTO COMMUNICATIONS.
