Chapter 142
|
First Call: WN3IFE in 1967 Other Call(s): WA3IFE WB8DVO
Al was called to join his beautiful wife, Bobbie (Roberta M. (Zimmer) Radolec pka Goldie May Reffner), in Heaven on December 23, 2021. He enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2013.
Albert was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Czechlosvakian/Hungarian immigrants John and Anna Clara Radolec. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister, Joseph J. Radolec and Anne Marie Radolec.
His 3 children have cherished the time they have had with him, Catherine Ann Yago (George), John A. Radolec (Jeannette), and Robin Lewis (Timothy). Left to also remember him are his grandchildren, Kenneth Fox, Michelle L. Carpenter (Jason), Tim Lewis, Jr. (Amie), and Jason Radolec; as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.
His days were lit up anytime he got to see his great-grandchildren, Tyler Carpenter, Ava Lewis, or Abbie Lewis. They were everything to GGPa.
Al was a retired WWII Army Veteran from the 58th Field Artillery Division, retiring as a CW3. After the war, he served in the reserves for several decades. He worked at Penn State University in the 60's and then moved to work at the University of Toledo in 1969. Retiring from UT allowed him to continue with other interests, specifically traveling, boating and using his HAM radio. He enjoyed talking with other Hams from across the world, as well as being the President of the local Ham radio club.
