First Call: KD4ONN issued in 1992

I grew up in Arab, Alabama where I was introduced to the hobby by the late Al Roberson, WQ4R. After graduating from high school I moved to the Florence, Alabama to attend college. Since my college days I have stayed in the Shoals area and now live in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

In March of 2015, I upgraded from Technician to Extra. My previous callsign was KD4ONN. It was my original callsign that I had for over 20 years.

I have a QRP rig with two antenna setups. When the weather is nice I move everything outside and use my magnetic loop. Otherwise, I use an end-fed antenna in the attic and operate from my office. It is challenging but rewarding working with these two setups.
