Dale Thomas Smith was born on 8/4/1951 in Ottawa, IL. Mother was Anne Marie (Dekreon) Smith, Father was Charles Albert Smith. Brothers, Gerald Smith (Deceased) and Stephen Smith of Ottawa, IL. Daughter, Rebecca of Texas and three grandchildren. His widow, Bonnie Sue (Beilsmith) and son, James Case Smith reside in Morganton.
He served in the Army from 1970-1976 as Helicopter Crew Chief and Electronics Engineer and later in the early 80's served in the Virginia Army National Guard.
As a civilian, he continued working in the electronics field and was employed by multiple companies in the National Capital Region (NCR) as a defense contractor.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday June 5, 2021 at St. Mary's/St. Stephens Episcopal church, 140 St. Mary's Church Road, Morganton.
Since Dale and Bonnie spent most of their lives in the Washington DC area, Arlington National Cemetery is the expected to be their final resting place.
