BRITTON, Col. Albert B. (A.B.), age 88 of Maryville, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008, at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home. He was a member and a Deacon of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, retired from the U. S. Army and the Federal Aviation Administration. He was an Amateur Radio Operator and a member of Gideon's International.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Harrison Britton; parents, Albert R. and Bess Pearl Cochran Britton; brother, Carl R. Britton; sister, Ruth Chambers.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Julie Britton of Maryville; daughter, Carol Anne Cochran of Maryville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Emily Anne and Philip Tyre of Waycross, GA; grandsons, Josh Cochran of Manchester, TN, Ian Britton of Seymour, TN; great granddaughters, Addy Cochran and Mea Grace Tyre; David Kolarik, God-son; sister-in-law, Laverne Britton of Maryville; special caregiver, Pat Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Madison Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Cummings officiating. Friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 3-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
