Thomas Lathrop Chadwick, 84, died Aug. 25, 2011. He was born in Worcester, MA and lived in Vero Beach for 24 years, coming from Big Pine Key. He joined the Merchant Marines and graduated from Gallops Island Radio School. He sailed as a radio operator on various ships all over the world until 1951. He served four years in the Army, two of them in Korea. He was a member of the Vero Beach and Sebastian River power squadrons, Indian River Travel Professionals, American Legion, Eagles and Ernest Hemingway Look-Alike Society. He graduated from Reading High School in 1944.
