Leon R. Harris, 82, of Battle Creek, died August 15, 2022. Leon was born November 14, 1939 in Olivet, MI to Clifford and Dora Harris. He graduated high school and later worked at Post Cereals for 35 years, retiring as a foreman in 1995. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles. He especially liked to operate Ham Radio.
Leon is survived by his two sons, William (Amy) Harris and Greg (Tammy) Harris; two brothers, Neal and Gary; two sisters, Loretta and Dianna; a sister-in-law, Roberta; a special niece, Heidi Everroad and his grandchildren, David, Michael, Jason, Erin, April and Allen.
Leon married the former Alice Berkimer on August 28, 1966. She sadly preceded him in death in 2006. He is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Duane.
Funeral services to celebrate Leon's life will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022 at Northeastern Baptist Church. Visitation will be Sunday, August 22 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel and on Monday one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com
