Ralph Knight, 100, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM.
He was born on November 6, 1914 in Valpariso, Nebraska, the son of Henry & Ida Knight who preceded him in death.
Ralph married Frances Sita on November 1, 1938 in Hillside, Maryland. They were residents of Roswell since 1946. Fran and daughter, Elizabeth, preceded him in death.
He worked for the US Geological Survey and the Federal Employees Credit Union.
Ralph was a Navy Radio Operator in WWII. He was an avid woodworker and ham radio operator, serving as the secretary of the Pecos Valley Amateur Radio club for many years.
Ralph was also a motorcycle enthusiast since 1936 and continued to ride until he was 98 years old.
Survivors include his son, Richard and wife Janetta of Albuquerque, grandchildren Cindy, Rick, Chris and wife Maria, and Tim; great-grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Sierra, and Dillion Knight.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Ballard chapel with Timothy Arlet officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Ralph will lie in state at the Ballard Funeral Home Friday and the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Ralphâs name to the Salvation Army, 612 W. College Blvd., Roswell NM 88201.
