James Douglas Barton Jr, 63, was called to his Heavenly home with a smile on his lips and song in his heart on January 29, 2009. He was born February 27, 1945 in Passaic, New Jersey to Alice and James D. Barton, Sr. He loyally served his country in the USMC during the Vietnam era and achieved the rank of Staff Sgt. A resident of the Oklahoma City area for the past 35 years coming from Dallas, Texas, James worked as an accountant for the Oklahoma Department of Health. With a heart for helping young men grow up to be good citizens and active in our communities, James enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #20. He touched many lives also as a Christian witness for others. He was ordained February 15, 1985 as a Deacon in the Arch Diocese of Oklahoma for nearly 25 years.
