Mary Louise Tomlinson, 90, a resident of Lely Palms in Naples, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 PM at Vitas Hospice. Born Dec 9, 1927 in Kansas City, KS, daughter of the late William and Fannie (nee Marsh) Esterbrook.
Mary grew up in Mays Chapel, AR before moving to Memphis TN. There she married and raised three children. In 2000, George Russell Tomlinson convinced her that living in Naples was the thing to do. They became man and wife on Sept 2, 2000.
Mary was a devoted housewife and mother and a devout member of Lely Presbyterian Church. She became a HAM radio operator in 1979 and was an active member of Amateur Radio Association until shortly before her death. She has been recognized many times through the years for unselfishly giving of her time and self in support of natural disasters. During the earthquake in Mexico, she stayed at her radio, only leaving for short breaks. The most prestigious award was presented the month before her death. The EMERITUS Award, was presented by the YL International Single Sideband System, for lifetime achievement and service to others.
Survivors include her husband, George of Naples; son, William (Jacqueline) Reed of Belleville, IL; daughter, Brenda (Gregory) Rozborski of Plano IL; three siblings, Carl Boswell of Chittenango NY, Catherine (Milton) Kee of Eads, TN; Joyce(Sidney) Poole of Oakland, TN; sister-in-law, Margret Boswell of Bartlett, TN; four grandchildren, Michelle, Warren, Spencer and Adam; nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends from around the world.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Richard Arlen Reed; her brothers, Harry Allen Boswell, Gus Henry Boswell; and sister-in-law, Alice Boswell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28th, 2018, 2:00PM at Lely Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews Boulevard, Naples, FL 34113. Donations in Mary.s memory may be made to the Young Ladies International Single Side Banders (YLISSB) 87298 Chinquapin Loop, Veneta, OR 97487-9511

George and Mary were married September 2, 2000. They live 5 miles north of Marco Island in Naples.
