Rick passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kemptville, ON, on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the age of 75. Born in Sarnia, ON and very proud of his Ukrainian heritage, he was predeceased by his loving wife Eva Bandla (nee Emanuel) in 2012 and brother Kenneth (Kathy) of Sarnia in 2009. Loving father of Stephen Bandla (Kelly) of Kemptville and David Bandla (Kelly) of Edmonton, AB. Rick will be sadly missed by his daughter-in-law's parents Michael & Jean Sullivan of Aylmer, QC, brother-in-law Eugene Emanuel (Lydia) of Edmonton, in addition to his niece Amy Bandla (Kevin) of Sarnia and nephew Michael Bandla (Jamie), of Grande Prairie. He will also be missed by his dear friends Ruth Hopkins of Toronto, Ken Asmus of Ottawa, Kathy and Barry Darlington of Orleans and all his ham radio friends. Most especially, Rick will be missed by his two young grandchildren, Shelby and Morgan Bandla, daughters to Stephen and Kelly. Their smiles, laughter and energy were the highlight of Ricks golden years. He even moved to a new home in Kemptville just a few years ago to be closer to them. In retirement from a distinguished career with Bell Canada, Rick loved family gatherings, good conversation, his Ham Radio club, and travel. Relatives and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd, Orleans. Visitations will be Thursday May 5, 2022 from 4:00-6:00pm and Friday May 6, 2022 from 10:00-11:00am. The funeral service will be Friday May 6, 2022 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke foundation or Canadian Cancer Society, would be welcome.
