Nancy Jenkins of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Foothills Hospital from heart failure at the age of 69 years. Nancy was born October 15, 1948 in Whitehorse, Yukon.
She was educated in a Residential school until her father passed away. She was then placed in a foster home in Medicine Hat.
Nancy worked in Medicine Hat as a waitress and then as a pipe liner, installing small natural gas lines. Nancy went on to find employment with Nova Gas Transmission which led her to move to Calgary. Nancy also worked as a computer programmer for many years until downsizing took her job. Nancy's skills at programming landed her a job in Winnipeg where she worked off and on with Investors Group until her retirement in 2008.
Nancy enjoyed cross stitch and would enter her pictures in the Stampede where she won many ribbons.
Nancy is survived by her son Chad Jenkins and boyfriend Brian Hoyte. Nancy was predeceased by her son Brett Jenkins.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
