GILMOUR David GeorgeFebruary 10, 1924 - September 9, 2008 Died peacefully in St. Paul's Hospital on September 9, 2008 at 84 years of age. Deeply missed by Pauline, his loving wife of 52 years, his daughters Audrey and Katherine Ann, son-in-law Glenn, and granddaughter Natalie. Predeceased by his sister Margot and brother Allan, he leaves behind nephews David (Linda) of Wales, Christopher (Terese) of Fort McMurray, Peter, Christopher and Marissa of Kirkland, WA, and all of their children. David also leaves to mourn several close friends. David was born on February 10, 1924 in Ayr, Scotland and after spending time as a radio technician in the RAF, he emigrated to Canada in 1949. He followed in his father's footsteps as a second generation banker, spending 32 years with the Dominion and then the Toronto-Dominion Bank. In Vancouver he met Pauline, the love of his life, and settled in the West End to raise his family. As call sign VE7YG, David held a lifelong interest in amateur radio and was an active member of the Vancouver Amateur Radio Club. David enjoyed excellent health and was very engaged with his family and the community around him. We take great comfort in knowing that he kept his active and independent lifestyle until the very end. Memories of David can be shared at www.remembering.ca.
