Engelbrecht, Clarence Lewis passed peacefully away on Friday, January 28, 2005. Clarence Louis was born to Otto and Ida (Theel) Engelbrecht in Elkton, South Dakota in 1914.
In 1941, Bob joined the U.S. Military and served in North Africa, France, Italy and Brazil. His last overseas posting was to Fort Pepperell at St. John's in 1950. He retired from the forces with the rank of Captain in 1952. Bob then worked with CJON/NTV until his retirement in 1976.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Miriam, stepdaughter Sharon Vaughan and her family (husband Douglas and children Kathleen Linda and Daniel); sisters-in-law Elaine Engelbrecht (South Dakota), Dorothy Engelbrecht (Nebraska) and nieces and nephews in South Dakota and Texas. He is also survived by sister-in-law Lorraine Field (Robert); brothers-in-law Roland Legrow (Barbara) and Charles Legrow (Gladys); mother-in-law Mrs. Mae Legrow, and special friend Rollie Thompson. Predeceased by his parents, his daughter Linda Ann, his first wife Ellen Bishop, brothers Melvin and Irvin and sister Vyolla Deller (Wendell).
Special thanks to Pastor Scott, Dr. Matthew Lilly and the medical staff at St. Clare's Hospital. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Saturday and Sunday and from 10 am - 12 noon on Monday. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2005 from the Anglican Cathedral. Interment to follow at the Field of Honor, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
