GEORGE FREDRICK FRANKLIN
George Fredrick Franklin, 96, of Kansas City, Mo passed away July 2, 2017.
George worked for the MO HWY patrol, Wilcox Electric, Maxon Corp. He had a PHD in Land - mobile communication, an avid amateur radio operator for 84 years and served in WWII as a Master SGT in the Army.
George was a life-long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

First licensed in 1935 as W9UXQ in St. Louis, MO at age 14.
Right after WW2 operated in Frankfurt, Germany as D4USA and later as D4ACD.
Also held calls G5AKV and EI7BX.
Ex operator/technician with MO Highway Patrol; held 2nd class CW and 1st class phone licenses. Hold GROL.
Registered professional engineer, NARTE, ISCEE, NABER, APCO, OTC, A1, SOWP, QCWA.
Active all bands, multi-mode, mostly CW, mostly QRP.
Proud of my Elecraft K2 completed in Oct. 99. My "other rig" is a Kenwood TS2000.
Own and operate ham 2M and GMRS repeaters.
Married to Doris, KDØLK. Operate a Mom & Pop 2-way radio business in KC MO.
