Margaret Faris passed away March 28, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital, Longmont, CO surrounded by her husband, Randall Faris and other family members.

Margaret was born January 30, 1925 to Merlin and Alice Balfour in Syracuse, NE. the second of nine children. She was a 1941 graduate of Nebraska City High School, attended Peru State Teachers College, and taught country school before she married Randall Faris on March 17, 1944. They were married at the Wyoming church near Dunbar, NE. and celebrated 69 years this year.

She was a hard working farmer's wife, mother of 3, a secretary, and finally retired as a Chartered Life Underwriter from Lincoln Mutual Life Insurance Company. She and Randall enjoyed camping and traveling with the Good Sam's Club. They pulled their trailer to all corners of the country and then settled in a RV park in Apache Junction, AZ for several years. Margaret enjoyed going to the casinos, making crafts, crocheting, and playing cards.

She is survived by Randall, sister Barbara Esser of Nebr. City, brother Robert Balfour of Sidney, NE, daughter Virginia (Ginny) Major of Longmont, CO, son Wayne Faris of Omaha, NE, and son Kenneth Faris of Plattsmouth, NE.; four granddaughters; Bonnie Emerson of Greeley, CO, Diane Smith of Denver, CO, Kelley Gaither of Longmont, CO, and Bailey Jones of Ashland, NE. She is also survived by 6 great-grand children, soon to be 7; and 1 soon to be great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City, NE. Burial will follow the services at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, NE.

The family will greet friends on Friday evening, April 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
