Sheekanoff, Robert Louis "Lou" age 85, of St. Louis Park MN, most recently a resident of the Wellstead of Rogers. Loving husband, father, brother, grandfa-ther, neighbor, and friend. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side 10/1/14 of kidney failure triggered by Alzheimer's Disease.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, Louis and Eleanor; wives, Joyce ('50-60), Laurel ('71-78), and Donna ('84-2003); sister, Jean; brother, John; step-brother, Philip Kukuloff; grandson, Donavan Pietsch; step-son, Mike Larson; step-daughters, Judy Miller and Jackie Carlson. Survived by daughters, Lou Ann Pietsch, Lee (Andy) Noll, and Joy Bella; sister, Judy (Jim) Ruppert; step-children, Dan (Rita) Hannan, Debra (Bill) Slabey, and Kevin (Julie) Hannan, Linda Larson; 7 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and great-grand-children.
Lou will be remembered for his sense of humor, integrity, intelligence and ability to fix just about anything.
He was born 1/9/29 in Winona, MN. he graduated from Dunwoody Industrial Institute as an electronic tech. in 1948 and became a lifelong employee of Honeywell, retiring in 1984. Lou was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served our country from 1949-53. He was also an accomplished, licensed radio amateur Extra Class since 1947 (WØBPR) and a talented woodworker.
A special thanks to the staff of Wellstead of Rogers, Becky Ahlstrom RN, CNP of Consultative Health and Medicine who helped to make his final years happy, fun and healthy, and the Methodist Hospital hospice staff that helped make his final days more comfortable.
