William Landby, 92, died Friday, October 23, 2015.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 30, at Warroad Baptist Church.Bill was born March 10, 1923, in a farmhouse near Swift to Martin and Gladys (Hoscheid) Landby. He graduated from Warroad High School. During his high school years, he spent two years in Thief River Falls in a sanitarium for tuberculosis.
He married Enid Elizabeth Peterson of Pitt March 23, 1952.After working in retail in Thief River Falls, Bill operated a Mobil gas station in Warroad and sold McCullough chain saws. He managed a farm machinery sales operation for his uncle and worked for a time in a record store in Vallejo, CA. As one of the original office staff at Marvin Windows, Bill worked 35 years in inside sales.
He was a member of Warroad Baptist Church.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Isabelle; brothers, Leonard, Bud (Lionel) and Norman; daughter, Lizbeth; and son-in-law, Gregory Van Natta.Full obituary in the Warroad Pioneer, Warroad, MN
