Funeral Services for Harry C. Jacobson, 93, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Bill Hough and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
Harry Clifford Jacobson was born September 4, 1919 to Hugo and Sigrid (Carlson)Jacobson in Sioux City, Iowa and passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton.
Mr. Jacobson was raised and attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. After his Honorable discharge he returned to Sioux City and began a long career with Iowa Public Service Company and retired after 35 years. He was married to Julie Cameron in 1959 in Sioux City. Iowa. They made their home in Iowa and she preceded him in death in 1987. He had also joined the U.S. Navy Reserve and retired as a E-7.
He moved to Clinton in 2005 and had attended The Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing on his Ham radios and visiting with others. He also owned and operated his own air plane
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Patrick Jacobson, two sisters, Dorothy Reilly and Signe Brunssen and two brothers, Johnny Jacobson and Herbert Jacobson.
He is survived by a son Robert Jacobson and wife, Ann, Clinton and eight grandchildren, Douglas Jacobson and wife, Sara, OKC, OK; Kari Dawkins and husband, Scott, Norman, Joe Jacobson, Tom Jacobson and wife, Stacy, John Jacobson and wife Teresa and Paul Jacobson and wife Alenda, Gardener, KS, Danny Jacobson and wife Ashley, Sioux City, Iowa and Mitchell Jacobson, Sioux City, Iowa and several great-grandchildren.
