Ellsworth F. (Cass) Cassing, 87, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church 4805 West 67th Street Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Cass was born February 20, 1920, to Fred and Laura Cassing. He grew up in Concordia, Missouri, and spent most of his life in Salina, Kansas, and the Kansas City area.

Cass served in the US Army during World War II in both Europe and the Pacific. He was Executive Vice President of General Heating and Cooling Company in the Greater Kansas City area. He held Life Membership in numerous Engineering Societies, was a member of various civic groups, and a hobbyist in the fields of Amateur Radio, Computers and Photography. He was a Mason, a member of Abdullah Shrine and remained an active member of Rotary, ASHRAE, ARRL and Faith Lutheran Church. He was a frequent speaker on semi-technical subjects using information gathered from travel experiences and his own insights.

Cass is survived by his wife Marguerite, their three children, David, James, and Nancy, and six grandchildren.
