Age 90 Passed away March 19, 2011 Born July 6th, 1920 in Minot, North Dakota. Moved to Champlin, MN in 1926. Graduated from Anoka High School class of 1938.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Marion Swisher Welton and brother Lowell Swisher. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Eleanor Lee; children, Steve (Emily) of St Paul, John (Heidi) of Nowthen and Mary Sigmundik (Rob) of Plymouth; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In 1937 joined the 125th Field Artillery WWII, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota National Guard of Anoka, MN. Served in the South Pacific D-Day Invasions of the Philippines.
Graduated Cum Laude from Hamline University 1949 majoring in mathematics and physics.
Worked for General Mills research division bombing and navigation systems for B-47 bombers and later as Chief Engineer for Balloon and Aerospace Research Operations. Agent with Mutual Service Insurance for 22 years.
Amateur Radio Operator, WØHPD since 1940. Lifelong member of Anoka Masonic Lodge #30. Wonderful husband, father, grandfather, scholar, lay leader minister, historian and story teller. He will be greatly missed by all.
