Walter Roy Kruchten, 81, of Fort Collins, died Dec. 3, 2007, at a local nursing home.

Mr. Kruchten was born July 18, 1926, in Devil's Lake, N.D., to Leo Kruchten and Anna Nett Kruchten.

Mr. Kruchten lived the past two years in Fort Collins after moving from Minneapolis, Minn.

He was a ham radio repairman and operator.

Walter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the Ham Radio Operator Association for 50 years.

Survivors include his nephew, John Kruchten of Fort Collins; and five nephews in California; three nieces, Jane MacGregor of Centennial, Patricia Kruchten of Centennial, and Mary Potter of Montrose; a brother, Al Kruchten of Fort Collins; and a sister, Dorothy Jelicich of Sacramento, Calif.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
Deacon Warren Lybarger will officiate at the service.
