Randall L. Faris Apache Junction, AZ QCWA # 08510 Chapter 25 |
Randall Faris was born at home near Union, NE on December 22, 1922. He was the son of Lee Faris and Lorena (Harris) Faris. He lived on the family farm until he graduated from Union High School in 1939.
His grandfather, Creed Harris was an insurance agent calling on farmers. When Creed.s Model T broke down he stopped driving and had Randall drive him to appointments. He became interested in the insurance business.
Randall met Margaret Balfour about the same time. They were married on St. Patrick.s Day 1944. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before Margaret passed.
Randall retired from the insurance business in 1987. Together they traveled all over the country with their travel trailer and moved to Apache Junction, AZ. He always enjoyed the heat.
They had three children: Virginia .Ginny. Major of Longmont, CO, Wayne Faris of Omaha, NE, and Ken Faris of Plattsmouth, NE, who all survive him.
He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Anderson of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
They moved to Longmont in 2007 to be near family. They enjoyed playing cards with the grandkids and having family dinners.
Randall passed away on August 5, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital after a brief illness. He will be greatly missed.
