Louis "Lou" T. Philippi, age 91, of Northglenn, Colorado passed away in Arvada, Colorado on Friday, June 8, 2018. Lou was born January 5, 1927 in Bruning, Nebraska. It is there, in Nebraska, that Lou had fell in love with and married, Charlotte R. McVay. Throughout the years they built a beautiful family with three children: Michael, Rick, and Madelyn Philippi. Adding to the joy of his life are Lou's sister, Helen Willet and his grandchildren: Jennifer Philippi, Brian Philippi, Erin Johnson, Lance Philippi, Amanda Murphy, and Kimberlie Baum. Continuing on Lou's memory are his great grandchildren: Ashlea Johnson, Conner Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Amber Baum, Sarah Baum, Mikayla Stutts, Emma Stutts, Dylan Philippi, Alexa Philippi, and Derek Philippi. Lou is preceded in death by his: beloved wife, Charlotte Philippi; his parents, Theodore & Olga Philippi; and his sister Orlene Cornell.
Lou served in the United States Navy during WWII, an endeavor that he was honored and proud of, holding dear to his heart until his passing. He was also, an avid ham radio operator, a hobby that he quite enjoyed extensively for many years.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4 to 6pm at the Olinger Highland Mortuary located at 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. A memorial service is to be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00am at the Christian Church of Broomfield located at 1572, 12601 Sheridan Boulevard in Broomfield, Colorado.
