Bertrand 'Bert' Wayne Voth, 82, of Minneapolis, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2020. He was born to Peter J and Suzanna (Schmidt) Voth in Goessel, Kansas on March 26, 1938.
He was the youngest of 11 children, 5 daughters and 6 sons, Amanda, Myrtle, Orlando, Melvin, Ruby, Lillian, Maxine, Bud, Clayton, Ray, and Bert. Bertrand was united in marriage to Velma Goering on June 12, 1960. They welcomed two children, Bradley and Kimberly.
Most of his professional career was spent working in the fields of aviation electronics and cable television. He retired from KU Medical Center after 19 years in the biomedical field.
Amateur (HAM) radio was one of Bert.s lifelong passions. For over 60 years, he enjoyed communicating with other HAMs from all around the world on a daily basis. He also enjoyed serving as an instructor for Hunter Education of Kansas for 40 years; achieving the honor of Master Instructor.
Bert loved his family and was proud of each of them. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vel Voth; his son, Brad Voth and wife Sherry; his daughter Kimberly Mills and husband Joseph; grandchildren Andrew and wife Jesika, Chloe, Joel, Emmalyn, Jordan, Ethan, and Quinn; great grandchildren Dalton, Cheyenne, Lachlan, and Elianna. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was always loving and kind to his family and enjoyed the time spent together. He will be missed by us all.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 26 at Higher Praise Church, 1220 Greeley Ave., Salina. Memorials may be made to the church and be mailed to Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
