Willard "Bill" Clare Higgins, 92, St. Cloud, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Higgins of St. Cloud; son, David (Mary Ann) Higgins of Minneapolis; step-son, Jason (Pam) Zoller of Olathe, Kan.; step-daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Bernstein of Edina; granddaughter, Lucy Higgins; and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife, Gina.
Bill was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Minneapolis to William P. and Claire C. (Flake) Higgins. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Bill worked for and retired from Honeywell, where he had been employed as a data systems manager. He was a long time resident of Minneapolis and Annandale. On Oct. 16, 2010, Bill married JoAnn Ilene Feldhusen Zoller Goodrie at Peace United Church of Christ, St. Cloud. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Bill was an avid ham radio operator and was founder and president of Ham Radio Club in Minnesota.
