Robert (Bob) Rinaldi 75, beloved husband and father, of Simsbury, passed away peacefully Friday, February 24, 2017 He was born in Waterbury, CT on April 22, 1941 to August and Mary (Daugela) Rinaldi. He graduated from Crosby High school in Waterbury in 1959 and continued on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Fairfield University in 1965. He worked at the Department of Revenue Service from 1973 to 1997 when he retired as the Assistant Director of Operations. He was a veteran and served in the US Navy on the USS Holder from 1959-1961 and in Naval Reserve from 1961-1971. He then served in the US Army Reserve from 1971 to1987 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He was an avid HAM Radio operator and a member of the ARRL for 60 years. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his quick sense of humor and generous spirit. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Phelan) Rinaldi and his daughters Lisa Barfield and her husband, Dennis, of Simsbury; Monica Ellison and her husband, Eric, of Tolland; his sister Dorothy (Santucci) Ciampi and her, Charles of Naples, FL and six beloved grandchildren, Cody, Emma, Taylor, Madison, Caden and Benjamin. Per his wishes a memorial service will held in the spring.
