First Call: N1UBQ
I am active on 160-10 meters SSB, RTTY,and CW. I am most likely chasing that rare DX. I will gladly exchange qsl cards, LOTW, DIRECT OR BUREAU. No e-qsls please. I still enjoy opening the mailbox to find a paper QSL card waiting.
First licensed in 1994, I was introduced to amateur radio by my grandfather Charlie who was W1HVA now a (SK).
I enjoy building antennas and climbing towers. My main HF radio is a Elecraft K3, amplifier is a Alpha 9500, (the one in picture is my old Alpha 89), My other HF radio is a TenTec Paragon 2.
Pardon my slow cw, and I appreciate your patience and qso.
Member of ARRL, NCDXF, INDEXA, (YCCC) Yankee ClipperContest Club, and (QCWA) Quarter Century Wireless Association.
Hope to work you and exchange qsl's.
The pictures below are some of my other interests; Donzi classic boat, me on my snowmobile in Rangely, Maine. Top right my Siberian Husky Blitzen, my restored 1948 Shaw Du-All R7A. Bottom left my new Tennadyne T-12 at 70 feet (21 meters). My vanity plate on my xyl's vehicle. My Hit and Miss 1925 3 1/2 hp. Jaeger (made by Hercules). Other antennas are; full wave vertical loop for 40 meters, at 50 feet. Horizontal dipole for 80 meters, supported by tower in the center at 65 feet. Shunt fed tower for 160 / 80 meters. Half square for 40 meters up 60 feet. Double extended zepp for 30 meters. I use the log periodic for 20-10 meters. For receive I use a 3 element triangle array with elements spaced 50 feet apart made by Hi-Z. Topband is my new interest especially trying to work DX.
