Harold C. Chase Jr. *CHASE, Harold C., Jr.* Harold C. Chase, Jr., 91, a resident of West Suffield since 1978, formerly of Windsor and Danvers, MA, died early Thursday morning, (February 21, 2008) at Kimberly Hall North of Windsor. He was born in Whitman, MA, a son of the late Harold C. Chase, Sr. and Ina L. (Bailey) Chase. Harold attended the University of Alabama where he studied in the Electrical Engineering field and was employed as an electronics engineer for the former Anders Inc., located in Simsbury, until his retirement in 1985. His passion was being a licensed Ham Radio Operator since 1932, with his call letters W1EES, as well as a life member and served several years on the Board of Directors for the Quarter Century Wireless Association.
Harold leaves a son, Harold "Hal" Chase and his daughter, Cynthia Huk, both of Ellington; two grandchildren, Susan L. Bentley and Timothy R. Huk both of Granby; two great grandchildren, Alexander Chase Bentley and Caitlin Louise Bentley; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Louise L. Chase and Barbara Johnson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, and burial will be private. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening. The Officers and members of Valley Lodge #36 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Service Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm Instead of flowers, contributions in his memory may be directed to the Quarter Century Wireless Association Scholarship Fund
