A Memorial Service for Ernest E. Curry, 90, of Port Orange, who passed away January 24, 2009 at Manor on the Green, Daytona Beach, will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Cardwell Funeral Home Lohman, 3571 Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange.
Born February 18, 1919, in Lee Pittsfield, MA, Mr. Curry retired from General Electric Co. (Ordnance Systems) March 1, 1981, after 34 years and eight months of service. He retired to Port Orange, FL.
Mr. Curry married in 1986 to Queenie Guckert, also of Port Orange. He was very interested in organ music and was Secretary of the Daytona Beach Organ Club for five years. He was a Ham Radio Operator for seventy years and his call letters were W1KZS.
Mr. Curry was also a professional photographer and won many certificates. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Queenie of Port Orange; three daughters, Monica Forgey of Vermont, Sharen Dovaris of Massachusetts, Karen Roberts of New York; one son, Brian Curry; and many loving grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on February 18, 2009; 11:00 am at the Epiphany Catholic Church, 201 Lafayette St, Port Orange. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Cardwell Funeral Home Lohman, Port Orange.
