Philip G. James Jr., 89, of Groton, Conn., formerly of Brockton, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the CT Hospice in Branford, Conn., husband of the late Barbara Chapman James. He was born on Oct. 27, 1924 in Brockton, son of Philip James and Mary Olenick James. He was employed for many years as an Electronic Tech for both the Brockton Police and Fire Departments and also worked for the Keystone Print which was owned by his family. He was a well known Ham Operator in his days. A veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are four sons, Peter, Steven, David and Jean James, a brother Robert F. James. Eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Paula Aiksnoras and a brother Richard W. James. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 10 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. at the Belmont Sabrowski Funeral Home, 144 South Main St., Colchester, Conn., followed by 12 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church, Rte 82, Oakdale, Conn. Burial with full military honors to follow in the Salem Green Cemetery, Salem, Conn. |
