Monson - Robert E. Pease, 92, of Brimfield Rd. died on March 2, 2011, at Wing Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born October 21, 1918, in Springfield, MA, son of the late Elmer J. and Dorothea (Hill) Pease.
Robert had lived in Monson for 43 years and proudly served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marine.
He worked for many years and retired as a technician in electrical engineering at the University of Connecticut.
Bob was also a Mason and member of the Day Spring Lodge in Monson as well as serving on the cemetery commission for many years and being past chairman.
He was a longtime amateur radio operator and will be remembered by many for his humor, love of life and love of gadgets.
He will be greatly missed by his three daughters, Marilyn H. Pease and her husband Bill Frodyma of Kerrville, TX, Kathryn P. Eichner and her husband Ed of Rocky Hill, CT, and Susan H. Bennett and her husband Amos of Pepperell, MA, along with 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Donlon) Pease in 1997 as well as his brother Richard W. Pease.
A memorial service will be held Sunday March 13th at 3:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A calling hour from 2:00-3:00 p.m. will precede the service. A private burial will take place in the spring at Brimfield Road Cemetery in Monson.
