UNION VALE - Scott I. Kostenbauder, 76, a resident of Poughquag, NY since 1971 died on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Bloomsburg, PA on August 2, 1937, he was the son of the late Emory and Mary (Kreischer) Kostenbauder and step-son of Miles Kostenbauder. On September 20, 1969 at The Pennsylvania State University Campus Chapel, he married E. Pearl McCreary, who survives at home.
Scott received his Doctorate of Education degree from Pennsylvania State University. He was employed with IBM for 34 years and retired as manager of Information Resources in Thornwood, NY.
He was very active in amateur radio for over 50 years and was known by his call sign of W2AWX and more recently W2LW. During his retirement, he worked for John A. Giaimo and Son Electric and taught as an adjunct professor at Dutchess Community College, Poughkeepsie, NY.
In addition to his loving wife, Scott is survived by his sons and their spouses, Del and Wendy Kostenbauder of Ashland City, TN and Kip and Catherine Kostenbauder of Fishertown, PA and his grandchildren Ty, Maggie and Thomas Kostenbauder.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9 at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, 1486 Quaker Valley Rd, New Paris, PA. Interment will be at the Fishertown Community Cemetery. For condolences, please visit Scott's Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
