Robert C. Wenger, 93, of Ephrata, entered into rest at Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, October 3, 2008.
He was born in Ephrata to the late Clayton Pfautz and Suie (Showalter) Wenger. He was the husband of Caroline (Charles) Wenger, having celebrated 29 years of marriage this past June.
Mr. Wenger was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1933. He spent one year at Swarthmore College and graduated from Juniata College with a BA in 1937. He went on to Temple University and earned his MBA in 1964.
A member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren, he was involved in amateur radio. He was a life member of both the American Radio Relay League and the Lancaster Radio Transmitting Society. He served on the Ephrata National Bank Board of Directors. He enjoyed international travel and enjoyed 100 countries.
He was the owner of C.P. Wenger & Sons.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wenger is survived by his nephew Dr. Ronald D., husband of Judith Wenger of Madison, WI and his niece Karen, wife of Gregory Hoover of Elizabeth.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Christian S. Wenger and his nephew C. Bruce Wenger.
A visitation will be held at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Ave., Ephrata, from 9 to 10 AM Wednesday, October 8 with funeral services being held at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
