Hello from Northern California
Budd here. Licensed since the Summer of 1954. My main interests are in operating from my recumbent trike, pictured on the right. I maintain a home station with a quad and a Yaesu VL-1000 for skeds and rag-chewing. Favorite band is 17 Meters and 6 Meters when it is open. SSB or CW, I like them both.
Watch for me almost every day at 1745 UTC on 18157.5 kHz. Free signal reports from Northern California.
Here's my 1930 Model A Ford. It's basically stock, but it has been converted to 12 volts so I can use up to date LED lights and turn signals. I run a shock/corded Buddipole Vertical with a capacity hat on the A. An FT-857d sits on the seat beside me, and sometimes I add an Ameritron 300 watt amp with a 55 amp-hour battery in the rumble seat on the floor.

QSL Info: I will send you a card if you send me an envelope and postage. For International postage, a single USD is fine. I'll make up the difference. IF it's an all-time brand new country for you, email me instead, and I will send you the card without you having to send me one. That includes all my Caribbean contacts, by the way. W3FF@buddipole.com.
No IRC's please. And I am no longer using the ARRL bureau as of September of 2014.

The Lightfoot Cycle trike is fun to ride, and I have it set up for HF and for the Magic Band too. Antennas are Buddipole components configured in various ways. For HF, I like shock/corded whips with a capacity hat on top. The cap hat keeps the antenna shorter for riding under trees here in Redding, CA.
I designed the Buddipole antenna in 2000, and my son, Chris,W6HFP, runs the BP company from Hillsboro, OR. I answer emails on setup and tuning the commercial offerings.
"Buddies in the Caribbean" is a group of guys who operate from various countries in the Caribbean with Buddipoles. I've been to visit the Islands 20 times in the past 12 years. In 2014, we went to Bequia in the Grenadines. That's a lobster place:
It's a great life. My goal has and will continue to be to.... Have Fun Every Day.
