WINTER HAVEN - Ward Barr Crabill entered a new life on August 19, 2015. He was 92 years old and was a resident of the Swiss Golf and Tennis Community. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., he graduated with honors from Eastern High School in 1941, and from Bliss Electrical School in 1942. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the European Theatre. Ward was an employee of C&P/Bell Atlantic/Verizon for 42 years, primarily in management. He was instrumental in the production of television/radio coverage for four Presidential Inaugurations and President Kennedy's funeral. Ward married his sweetheart, Dorothy Gene Starkey Crabill, on July 10, 1943 in Washington, D.C. They recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. Ward was a member of Beymer United Methodist Church of Winter Haven, FL. He was an Amateur Radio Operator, a member of ARRL with the call sign of W3JGK and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed travel, music, and using modern technology. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Franklin Crabill, Sr. and Ethel Barr Crabill and his sister, Anne Glick. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Patr-icia L. Rosser (David) and Rebecca J. Stancliff (Da-vid), all of York, SC; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren with another great grandchild expected in November; his brothers, Perry F. Crabill, Jr., of Winchester, VA, Roger D. Crabill, of Lakeland, FL, Norman L. Crabill of Newport News, VA, and Jack A. Crabill of Mitchellville, MD. He also leaves a special nephew, Fred Crabill of Lakeland, FL as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. He was a devoted family man and friend. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of life is planned in the early fall of 2015.
