Mr. Thompson was the loving father of Scott (Carolann) Thompson of Yardley, and Vikki (Dennis) Guss of Fredericksburg, VA. On June 19, 1976 he married Patricia (Schwab, nee Fisher), who survives at Arden Court in Yardley. He was also the proud step-father to Michael Schwab of Fairless Hills and Nancy Schwab of Feasterville. Red enjoyed the privilege of being grandfather to Travis and Tennyson Guss, Carly Schwab (Joe Gelgot), and Travis (Meri) Albanezi. One grandson, Tanner Guss, preceded him in death. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Thompson has been a long time resident of Fairless Hills and was a 1957 graduate of Pennsbury High School and a founding member of Fairless Hills United Methodist Church. Red was certified as a Gold Seal Boiler Tech and worked for years at Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick. He retired in April 2016 from NJPHEAL in Ewing. He cherished the friendships that he made in his career, and shared many memories with co-workers both in and outside the work environment. A phenomenal guy, Red was always ready to help out anyone; friend or stranger. He was a most respectful person and passed that wonderful trait onto his children along with his Christian values. Mr. Thompson was a US Navy veteran and was very proud to have served his country aboard the USS Aldebaran and USS Wyandot. His favorite excursion while in service was the trip to Antarctica. He attended events to honor his Veteran brothers frequently. A member of the NRA, he was a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment. He was also a member of the Staten Island Four Wheel Drive Club and enjoyed his many Harleys. Mr. Thompson was always ready to learn a new skill; most recently playing guitar and woodworking. Since 1973 he was an avid ham radio operator, and enjoyed his daily QSO's and periodic Hamfest competitions and swap-meets. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. Always one to enjoy a good laugh, Red appreciated the NY Giants gifts he received from his step-son, Mike.
