ZEEK Merle William age 76, of Bonita Springs, FL, died Friday, September 26, 2014. Formerly of Fairfield, Ohio, he had been a Bonita resident since 1996.
He was born February 14, 1938 in Hamilton, the son of Michael Oscar and Helen (nee Mucker) Zeek.
Mr. Zeek retired from General Motors as a Tool and Die Supervisor after many years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Barbara Ellen (nee Gibson) Zeek; his beloved children, Douglas (Paula) Zeek of Somerville, OH, David (Susan) Zeek of Hamilton, OH, Danny (Mary Paige) Zeek of Hamilton, OH and Jody Hensley of Fairfield, OH; his stepchildren, Cynthia Kopus of Sidney, OH and Steven Ballou of Sidney, OH; his brother, Vance (the late Judy) Zeek of Ocala, FL; thirteen cherished grandchildren, Michelle Zeek, Trisha (Jeff) Cliffinger, Justin Zeek, Jacob Zeek, Danielle Zeek, Catherine Zeek, Kristopher (Kimberlee) Hensley, Jenna (Todd) Hudson, Joshua Kopas, Jarrett Kopas, Tammy Kopas, Steven Ballou and Tony Ballou and eight great grandchildren, Caroline, Thomas, Dylan Rose, Kayla, Kelsey, Kennedy, Audrey and Lillian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha (nee Graft) and his brother, Grant Zeek and his stepson, Donald Eugene Ballou.
Funeral Services will be Friday October 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home 3950 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
