Lawrence Victor Peverall Sr., 90, died June 21, 2015 in hospice care at the Hampton VA Medical Center.
He was born in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Arthur and Nora Peverall.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Katherine L. Peverall. He was the 5th of 13 siblings and is survived by his brothers Albert, Leonard, Cecil and Raymond Peverall.
He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
He had a zest for life. His hobbies included playing his guitar, traveling and operating his ham radio to talk with people all over the world using his call letters W40GZ.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Marie Barker (Ronnie), Larry Peverall (Joelene), Shirley Combs (Ronnie); grandchildren David Barker (Kristin), Jennifer Phillips (Percy), Leslie Peverall, Justin Combs (Ashley), Gregory Combs and Daniel Combs; and great grandchildren Peyton, Stacey, Olivia, Sabrina, Aidan and Addie.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502 on June 25 from 6-8 PM.
A funeral will be held on Friday at 1 PM in the Woodlawn Chapel officiated by Rev. David Lambert with burial to follow in the Memorial Gardens.
