Dallas C. Waters was the son of Mattie and Alva F. Waters. He married November 11, 1941, Pauline Tingle (1920-2015), daughter of Beulah M. Rawls (1897-1988) and Talmadge Homer Tingle (1894-1983). He was listed in the 1930 US Census in Craven Co., NC, with his parents as: Alva F. Waters, head, 42; Mattie Waters, wife, 40; Madaline Waters, dau, 16; Alice Waters, dau, 12; Dallas Waters, son, 8; and Lois Waters, dau, 3; all born in NC. He was listed in the 1940 US Census in Craven Co., NC, with his parents as: Al F. Waters, head, 53; Mattie Waters, wife, 51; Dallas Waters, son, 18; and Lois Waters, dau, 13; all born in NC. He enlisted as a Private in the Field Artillery, NC National Guard, at Camp Battle, New Bern, NC, September 16, 1940, as single, without dependents. Obituary: Dallas Carson Waters, 92, of New Bern, died Aug. 19, 2014 at home.
He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and he retired from West New Bern Post Office. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Tingle Waters; three sons, Brad Waters of Cove City, Fred Waters and Doug Waters, both of New Bern; one daughter, Phyllis Olesek of New Bern; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 at Broad Street Christian Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory. From obituary published in the Sun Journal, New Bern, NC, Aug 21, 2014,
