Funeral service for Bryson Lane Lowman, 87, will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at Ascension Lutheran Church with burial in Bethel Lutheran Church cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel in Irmo.
Mr. Lowman died April 11, 2011. Born April 26, 1923, in Ballentine, he was a son of the late John Brooks Lowman, Sr. and Dorothy Dell Derrick Lowman.
A WWII veteran, he served in the Army from 1944-1946, earned a BSEE from USC, and retired as an electrical engineer and manager from SCE&G in 1988.
He was a ham radio operator all his adult life.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Eleazer Lowman; son, Don D. Lowman (Jan) of Irmo; daughter, Catherine Wessinger (Kenneth R. Richards) of New Orleans; grandchildren, Clinton Wessinger of Columbia, Lauren and Grayson Lowman, both of Irmo. He was predeceased by his brother, John B. Lowman Jr.
